The Big 5- The Party

The party day finally came! Faith and I spent a chunk of the morning running errands for it and then switched into party mode as soon as preschool was done for the day. This year she chose to have a Build a Bear party with a couple of friends and cousins of hers. It was a really great time and they all got to pick and build an animal of their choice.

Afterwards, we went to a nearby park for pizza, playtime, presents and cake!

It was such a great time and everything she'd been dreaming/talking about for months and months.   She was so exhausted by the end, she couldn't even make it back to the car! A sure sign of a great party!
Thanks to everyone that came and made it a special day for her. She's already planning #6!  This girl kills me.

The Big 5- The Day Of

Faith has been planning and dreaming about turning 5 for months and months now and this month, that finally happened!  We woke up on the morning of her day and she got to open a couple of presents from Mom and Dad.

She's recently decided that she wants to convert her room into a room fit for a ballerina, so we got her a new bedset and a ballerina dolly to start it off. She was thrilled!
After a normal day of work/daycare, Daddy came home to surprise her with flowers for both her and me and the Reese's ice cream cake she's been dreaming about since discovering it at the grocery store.

Then we let her pick to go to dinner anywhere she wanted.  She chose Texas Roadhouse! She's a girl after my own heart. We had good food and she got to sit in the saddle of honor and have a little pre-dessert.

Then it was back home to dig into that ice cream cake!

It was a great day even if she exclaimed that she wasn't officially 5 until she had her friend party.   That had to wait a few more days to happen.  So, we waited.....and waited....and waited.

Viva Las Vegas 2016 - Day 2 (part 2)

To end our fun little get away, it was finally time for the concert! I don't think these pics need much explanation. The king of country still reigns!

And the intermission entertainment was pretty good too.  ;)

It was a really great trip and fun to be away and letting loose a little more.  Stress relief at it's finest for me.

Viva Las Vegas 2016- Day 2 (part 1)

Day 2 in Vegas, I met up with my sister and brother in law who were there for the concert (the reason for this trip) in the morning and we ventured off to first grab some Carlo's Bakery goods again. And do some silly posing pics in the Venetian, because what else would you do that early in the morning?

Then we were off for a brunch date with our Aunt, Uncle and cousins.  We hit up a Hash House A Go Go (a Vegas must) for some good eats.
After brunch, we rested in the hotel a bit and then it was off to the strip to do a little playing before the concert. We did some souvenir shopping and got in touch with the local Vegas flair.

Then we ventured over by the venue to be posers, some more.

I had so much fun playing posers with my sister and of course, doing a little more people watching while we were at it.
