He got to start off his birthday morning with a round of 9 holes of golf with our good friend Scott. They both report terrible scores, but had a good time out on the green. After he finished up there, he picked me up from work and we dashed off to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Little known fact (we even had no idea) his birthday falls on National Cheesecake day. Therefore, to celebrate his birthday all slices of cheesecake were half price! Score! He picked himself up 2 slices to go on the way out, naturally.
After running home for a bit to take care of the dog and take a quick conference call from work, we went to the next activity he had picked and got in another movie at the theater. We saw the movie Trainwreck and got to enjoy the whole theater mostly to ourselves (seriously there was only 1 other person in there). Score! Then it was time to dash across town for the day's main event....His first ever Paint Nite experience with some friends.
His best friend Garrett showed up wrapped in a bow and came bearing hilarious gifts from he and his wife Laurel who also joined us.
And we had a great time visiting and painting the night away.
And I surprised him with this one last gift from me. A new superman hitch cover for his truck that he's been eye-balling and hinting at. ooohhh....shiny!
Awe-some sauce, indeed.
