Day 2 on the Bear Lake trip was the 4th of July! We got up early and had some breakfast and got ready for a big day. Of course Mom dressed them up in some patriotic clothes.
Then we went over to the other camp to start our day. We decided to go explore some and headed up the road a ways to see what kind of celebrations were going on in the Idaho side of the lake. We ended up visiting Paris.
The parade was still a few hours away and there didn't seem to be much going on in town, so we took a vote and decided just to head out to the lake. We hit the North Shore and spent many hours on the beach making sand castles and just playing in the water. It was so nice.
After all the activity, the shakes in town were calling our names, so we stopped for one, or 6!
Then it was a quick trip to camp and meeting up with the others to grill up some burgers and dogs for dinner and have some 4th of July goodies while roasting s'mores. In between dinner and s'mores, a few of us snuck off to check out the boardwalk at the park that leads down to the lake to take some scenic pics.
The glow sticks and pinwheel straws back at camp were a hit and Daddy was the official marshmallow toaster.
Then it was back to our camp to catch our breath and take some showers while we watched fireworks going off all around the campground. Pretty fun 4th, if I do say so myself!
