Bear Lake 2015- Day 2

Day 2 at Bear Lake was all about being on the water. We picked up some jet-ski rentals early in the morning and 4 of us drove them from one end of the lake all the way to the other end (about 21 miles). We got there and found where Mike had set us up on the beach and played the day away on the water, in the water and in the sand.

After we'd had our fill, we drove the jet ski's the 21 miles back to the other side of the lake and met up with the gang back at the house for some 4th of July fun.

We had a little craft ready for the kids to do. They made some hand print flag shirts of their own.

Then it was time for the first Redneck Golf tournament of the trip. Mike and I lost in the single elimination round this day. But we still had a good time.

After more games and glow stick fun, we called it a night while watching and listening to a few more fireworks going off all around us.

What a fun and exhausting 4th of July! A great time was had by all.

Bear Lake 2015- Day 1

For the 2nd year in a row, we and my extended family decided to spend the 4th of July weekend at Bear Lake. We started out heading there on Friday for some fun.  We got there ahead of everyone, so we opted to play at the park for a bit until most of them caught up.

They arrived and let the kids out to play for a bit too after their long drive.

After they played and stretched a bit we decided to go rent some of these contraptions for a little excursion through town.

Then once the rest of the gang arrived, we headed to the resort where we had rented a house together to get settled in and play some games in the yard. First up, badminton.

After a delicious dinner, it was time to grab some grass and get ready to watch the fireworks show provided by the resort.  I of course, took some more sunset pics while we were waiting, but hey....can you really blame me?

And we had a good time hanging out and waiting for the show to start.

Then.....fireworks!

It was a great start to the trip and we then called it a night to get ready for the busy day ahead at the lake.

Paint Nite With Julia

My friend Julia has been in town running her Bricks 4 Kids business with her family. Before she headed back to Texas for a few weeks, we had to go out together sans some kids for her to get a little break. We decided to do another Paint Nite since she's never done one before.  Here's some pics of the fun and the final results.

She did awesome for her first time. Mine didn't turn out quite like I wanted it to, but that's ok. I still had a great time chatting, eating, drinking and painting with this pretty lady which is what these nights are really about for me. Can't wait for the next couple coming up this month that I've already signed up for.

p.s. To Great Aunt Sue.....the answer is yes! This one has joined the rest of my pile on the floor right where you left them. ;)

Mining and Crafting Camp

Caleb got a treat when he got invited to another Bricks 4 Kids camp last week. He got to attend the Mining and Crafting themed camp. He was just supposed to go one day again, but after some begging and a generous offer from my friend Julie to pick him up from the babysitters house to go, he got a attend a 2nd day as well. He had a great time and had a nice break doing something without his siblings for a change this summer.
