Pre- Easter fun

We had a great week prepping for Easter. We started off at home with coloring Easter eggs a week early because they simply couldn't wait one more day!

Then after Dad had to run off and leave us for a work trip. We passed the time by making some Easter chicks together.

The kids then got to go to Papa's house for a couple of days and help them get ready. Once we arrived there to join them,  we got to help Grandma Nette feel better with a little pre-Easter pedicure from the goodies in the Easter basket we made her.
And then they got to dye more eggs at Papa's house.

We then spent the evening crossing our fingers that the Easter Bunny would find us all the way in Price again.

March Art

These boys finally got signed back up for the art classes they've been missing. For the last month they've been enjoying learning about and trying to replicate the artistic stylings of Marc Chagall.  Here's an example of one of his works.

They didn't bring much of it home with them since they enjoy gifting their pieces to their teacher, but I did get to see a little of it.  Looks to me like they were nailing it!

They loved having class again and are already looking forward to April's classes where they will be  learning about stilllLife art.   Stay tuned!

Happy St. Patty's 2016!

We are only a wee bit Irish. But you can kiss us anyway!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The Leprechaun Trap

Those 2nd graders of ours had a idea last night to set a leprechaun trap and try to trap one. So one empty box, some markers later, a stick and some chocolate gold coins later, we had built the perfect fool-proof trap to leave on the porch.

Sometime during the night, a pesky leprechaun did show up.  He left a rainbow trail of candies from the front door to the kitchen and then got in my pantry and turned all of our oreo's gold!  At least he left them for us to enjoy later with some other treats.

They were so excited that a real leprechaun came when they woke up this morning. They couldn't wait to check the trap. But Drats! The trap had been activated and the gold gone! No leprechaun just a note that read, "You missed me this time, thanks for the gold!"  They were a little bummed out showing me the note until I reminded them that the joke was really on that leprechaun because when he gets back to his house, he's going to open up his bag to find that we didn't leave him real gold, only the chocolate kind. Take that Mr. Leprechaun!.

Time Marches On

Well it's official, this guy is going to move on to Jr. High next year whether Mom likes it or not.  He's officially registered, received his next set of immunizations and attended the first little orientation event they hosted.

Who gave him permission to grow up and make us parent's of a soon to be Jr. High kid? And who changed the calendar ahead so far that there's only 2.5 months left of elementary school for him forever? Say it isn't so!

Frozen On Ice

Last weekend was finally time to use the tickets Faith received from us for Christmas. Her tickets were to go see Frozen on Ice with Mom.  She was so excited. We started off by getting ready. Elsa outfit, Elsa dress, Elsa shoes and Elsa doll....Check!

And we were off to find our seats and get ready for the show.
Once the show started we were so excited to see some of Elsa and Anna's friend were there as well.

And then the stars of the show came out and told us their story.

She was mesmerized...
After a quick break at intermission and a stop for cotton candy with a crown and a snow cone we were back in the princess zone and ready for round 2.
Then we enjoyed the rest of the show.

It was such a fun way to spend an afternoon together. She's already requested that we purchase her tickets for Christmas again next year.  What have I started?

Red!

We went for it and went for the red! It's going to take some getting used to, but I think I like it and it'll be staying for a while. Now if I can just talk Mike into that bench I've been wanting out there for a while.... hmmmm wish me luck!
