Picture Not So Perfect

So here's my official complaint tonight. Is it so hard for the people at places like Costco to take a decent picture of you? Our annual fees were due this month so I went tonight to pay them and get me a new card. I had recently lost mine which was fine by me since I hated the picture of me on it anyway. So I was actually kinda excited about this.... Then they said 1...2...3.... a snap and I was good to go. Off the printer came this gem of a picture!!!! MY EYES ARE CLOSED! Seriously could you not take 5 more seconds and snap another one? Would it be too much time out of your day to make a customer happy with a card that she's not embarrassed to pull out of her wallet every time she enters the store. How many times do I have to loose my card to finally get one that I can bear claiming that the picture on there is truly me? Anyway I guess it will give some people chuckles. So if that was Costco girl's goal..she succeeded.

Ring A Ding Ding!

Here it is! My new ring. It took me several shots before I got a couple that I thought would be good enough to show. Pictures just don't do some things justice. But anyway, I love it.

Happy Birthday Mike!

Tomorrow is Mike's Bday and he had to go out of town for an interview. So I am here at home having my first night alone with the babies. We had one super fussy session that I ended up trying at least 7 different pacifiers during it then ended up just having to put them in the swings to let them work it out. But that led to a small cat nap for each of them and then they were better. I got them changed, fed again and in bed now so all is well. I have stayed up late to talk with Mike and bake his cake.

I realized while baking it that I had no decorations and since he doesn't like store bought cake, I improvised. So here is my creation. Hey, I have never claimed to be Martha Stewart so don't judge!

Anyway, Happy Birthday honey. We will see you tomorrow afternoon when you get home. Wish me luck getting the boyz off in the morning and good luck to you in the interview. We love you!

Pickles the duck

We started out today with a really fun project: Shampooing the carpet downstairs. Do we know how to live it up or what? Anyway we got all the furniture slid over to one side of the room and got the shampoo-er going and it all cleaned. Then instead of sitting around watching carpet dry (literally), we decided that it would be a good day to take the kids to our local indoor pool.

Here are some pictures of our adventure. Caleb's fav0rite part was Pickles the duck, a little slide that they recently put in. He must have went down that thing at least 100 times. And he was having a ball going down head first until the lifeguard came and yelled at him and Dad that they must go feet first....lame!

So we swam around for about an hour an a half. The little ones were actually pleasant throughout the whole ordeal and at one point I took Zaden to a sitting area in the deeper end and he fell asleep in water up to his chest...oh to be a baby.

But now we are back home and it's time to move furniture again and shampoo the second half of the carpet....I just wish we would have found that remote we've been looking for.

Zaden smiles

Zaden is super smiley in the mornings as soon as he gets up. I kept trying to get a good picture of it by myself while talking to him. I got an ok one, like this. It's hard to hold the camera and talk to him and snap it just at the right time.

Dad came downstairs and within 2 seconds, I got this one. Man he loves that daddy!

Date Night

Our babysitter offered to watch the boys for us tonight so that we could go out for a while. She had to twist our arms a little, but we went. We met up at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner then walked around the mall a little. We then went to the Shane Co. Jewelry store to look at some new wedding rings. I have developed an allergic reaction to the one I have had for the last 7 years. I have tried several treatments and not wearing it until the rash clears up but as soon as I put it back on then bam! it's back. So we decided that instead of waiting for the 10 year anniversary like we were originally planning that we should just do it now and focus only on Vegas and getting married by Elvis for #10. Only 22 months to go for that!

So to make a long story short, we had done some looking on their website and found one that I really liked. We went to see it in person and still liked it but it didn't have the same appeal that we thought it did on the website. However, we did find a setting that we could both agree on. It's white gold this time and they coat it with some hypoallergenic stuff...so here's hoping we won't run into this problem again. It has a flower design on both of the sides and I think it just says "Becca". We picked out a full carrot center stone that is princess cut to go along with it. So it's on it's way to be re-pronged for that shape and have the center stone set. I will post pictures when I get it. It should be ready by the end of next week.

Haven't decided what we are doing with the old ring yet. I really do love it and it makes me sad that I can't wear it. But I am also saddened at the thought of it just sitting around in a jewelry box for years too. So if you know of anyone looking for a wedding ring, let me know and we can make a deal. I would love for it to be used and adored by someone who loves it as much as I do.

4 year old woes

This afternoon I received a phone call in my office from a inconsolable 4 year old, all I could understand was something about "dad's pointer thing". I told him I would be home in a couple of hours and he put Dad on the phone. Turns out that he had gotten ahold of Mike's Palm pilot on the way home from the babysitter's house and in the course of about 10 seconds, had managed to lose the stylus. It was a tragic event that needed the mom apparently. After talking with me he was ok again and I could hear him playing with his cars in the background. Both Mike and I have searched the durango to no avail. Dad mentioned that the window was down, but Caleb swears he didn't throw it out the window........ guess we'll never know.

Arrrg me Matey!

Caleb's friend Logan had a birthday party today. It was a pirate party. We didn't get to stay the whole time to swim and all but were there for some pizza, cake and some fun. Caleb wouldn't wear the bandana so Zaric got in on the fun. Zaden however slept through the whole thing, still doesn't even know we went.

Superhero visits our house!

Best $14 spent so far this summer. Last week during a little trip to a store Caleb saw this costume in the toy section and really wanted it. I told him I would only get it if he would really wear it. And wear it he did. All day last Saturday and last Sunday until we made him take it off telling him it was probably getting stinky from not gettting washed after two full days!

Smile's anyone?

We are starting to get more and more smiles from the boys lately and Mike got Zaden giggling this morning. Too cute! Why is it always that the dad gets these things to happen? Here's a pic of some semi-smiles . It's so hard to get them both to smile really big at the same time, but you get the jist.

Virgin blogger

Ok so this is my first real taste of blogging. Here I am, all "in the now" apparently this is the latest and greatest way to keep everyone updated on the family. So we will give it a go. I promise to try to keep them short and entertaining as much as possible. Bear with me/us as we figure this all out.
