San Francisco - Part 1 (Anniversary Trip Day 2)

We got a purposeful late start this morning after more relaxing in the room at the Ritz and wandering with a morning stroll around the outside of the hotel and enjoying the mountain air and the views.

Then we loaded up our car and made the drive into San Francisco. It was a long, but beautiful drive. Both of us remarked at separate times about how were weren't expecting it to be so pretty.  We stopped along the way for a break and quick lunch then drove straight to take the drive down Lombard Street, naturally.  Mike did an awesome drive navigating the narrow, crooked street and I did a less than stellar job at getting decent pics. But oh well, we can say we've done it at least, right?

I had read on a blog prior to leaving that Baker Beach was a great place to go to take some good pics with The Golden Gate Bridge in the background, so we decided to give that a try next. Unfortunately it was very foggy and chilly that afternoon, so the pics aren't the best. But we still managed to snap a few and avoid getting any of the nudists that frequent the beach (and I had been warned about on the blog) in our pics. I'll take that as a win.

Then it was finally time that we could check into our hotel so, we got checked in and decided to walk down to the wharf to pick up our sunset cruise tickets as well as see some sights.  We hit up Pier 39 first to see the seals and walk around a bit.

Then we walked around a bit, grabbed some sounveniers for the kids in one of the many gift shops then decided to hit up Hard Rock Cafe again for another tshirt. Although we hadn't planned on eating there again, we made a last minute decision to do just that since we had somewhat of a time-crunch and they were seemingly unbusy at that very time. It was very good again and we left happy and full.  Then we had just a few minutes to waste before the main event of the day happened so we took a look at a couple other nearby places. We checked out the fun breads in the Boudin Sourdough bakery and of course took a picture near the Fisherman's wharf sign.

By the time we were done with this, it was time to hop in the line to board our planned sunset cruise. So we headed over the pier to do just that.
