Fourth of July!

Happy 4th of July! We hope you all had a great and safe holiday. I know we did. We started off the day by getting all dressed up for the occasion.

Then it was off to meet Papa and DaNell half way to get the kiddo's. They happily ran to Papa's arms and car and were on their way to have a ball with them and their cousins. Mike and I headed back to town in the quiet car and stopped off at a couple stores for some essentials then came home to enjoy the quiet a little. We decided on a whim to go see Superman, Man of Steel since we had some time before our guests arrived. It was my first time seeing it and Mike's 2nd. I have to admit, it was a pretty decent flick.

Once we were back home, we cleaned the house a little and packed more for our trip then we fired up the grill to cook for our friends. We dined on some tasty burgers, some corn on the cob, a cute little festive fruit salad and chips.

Our guests were one of my best friends, Shannon, who was driving back through town on their way back to Seattle, her hubby and their cute little boy Jonathan. We had a good time visiting and hanging out in the yard for a bit.
Then we came back in the house and fired up a movie from our collection to watch together. Once we heard fireworks, I went to investigate what we could see from our 2nd floor. It was awesome! We sat in our Master Bedroom with Shannon and Brian for a while and just watched out our window with it open so we could hear them as well. We could see at least 7 different shows going on all throughout the valley. What a treat!

Then it was bedtime. They tucked themselves in the basement and us upstairs for the night. We love having a house big enough for company again. What a treat to have them over.

And it looks like the kids were having fun at Papa's at the fair. My sister posted some pics of Caleb to her FB page. What fun!
